Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona

Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona

Sunday, December 18, 2016 Chiricahua National Monument, Arizona It reminded me a lot of Goblin Valley in Utah. Neat! I rolled a 5 = go to the nearest border. That’s New Mexico tomorrow! Monday, December 19, 2016 I’m afraid of heights, so every time I come across a name or a map of “something Pass” I get nervous. But I keep going over them anyway. Learning my truck’s low gears and giving myself permission to be the slowest person on…

Back on the Road! (almost)

Back on the Road! (almost)

A few excellent things happened the past couple of days: I downloaded the photos off my camera including some images of the beautiful full moon my first night in Tucson I got to visit with some dear old friends, one of whom was performing past night. We talk about ideas of ‘things’ owning us, about how experiences are what matter, but until you are sitting in a small cottage after two years of being embedded looking at blank walls and empty floors, you really don’t understand what that means. Moving is…

goodbyes

goodbyes

Yesterday was my last day at work. I am now officially jobless. I spent today lazing around, continuing my Great Purge of Things, and met a coworker for lunch. The first part was easy. Woke up late (around 07:00), made coffee, and watched an episode of “Vikings” and snuggled with the doggies in bed. The second part, the Great Purge continuation, was more difficult. The plan is to donate or sell anything that is not immediately useful or incredibly sentimental….
