Old friends

Old friends

After I left Spokane, I continued on my friend visit adventure and headed West to see some folks I knew when I lived in Seattle 1990 – 1994.  Many years ago, they moved just outside the small Washington town of Rockport, Wa. in the North Cascades, on the edge of the North Cascades National Park.  I got set up out front, nestled amongst the flower beds.  Then the dogs and and I took a hike on a trail just up…

Onward to Spokane!

Onward to Spokane!

One of the things I realized while boondocking in Montana was that I’ve done a lot of alone-time campering over the past few years and right now I have a unique opportunity to visit some old friends. As well, this is my “finding home tour” and that isn’t just about location – community is a giant slice of that pie chart. Update through Montana and Wyoming

Update through Montana and Wyoming

The dogs enjoyed viewing the Beartooths from afar while we were in Wyoming! They seemed unreal and I felt very disconnected from…

Small spaces

Small spaces

My Four Wheel Camper isn’t huge. It’s rather small inside, actually. Most of the time it works great for me and the dogs – they hang out up on the cab-over bed, and I do my cooking and computering or reading in the main area when inside. When I went on my previous no-destination adventure, I had this camper pretty set up for my daily needs. Just a few clothes, one storage container of food, only necessary cooking and kitchen…

On a Precipice

On a Precipice

This feeling of teetering on a ledge has been strong these past few weeks. I realized that it might help to assuage that feeling if I had more of a plan in place so I went to the campering forum of folks who also have truck campers like mine, where I’ve made a number of friends over the past few years. I wanted to look for ideas of places to go on this trip, and I glanced at my profile…
